I'm sure by now you've heard all this stuff about Sega and the ISP they're setting up. You sign on and they'll give you a Dreamcast+keyboard for free! If you've already got a Dreamcast, they'll send ya a keyboard and a check for $200 (that's not exactly how it'll work, but you get the idea).
The catch? You gotta stay with them for 2 years and pay $21.95/month for the Internet access... $21.95 * 24 = $526.80. Dreamcast + keyboard = around $225. Quite a bit more, wouldn't you say?
Sure the money you pay monthly is for the ISP. But free ISP's are coming outta nowhere these days. Netzero is one of the bigger ones. I use them every now and then, I can even get a better connection through them then I can with Earthlink. But their software crashes Windows on my PC after about 10 minutes (this may be due to the 'spyware' that's on my PC from all the Aureate products that I've got. It probably is, in fact).
Now, don't get me wrong, I wish for this to be a total succes for Sega. And if it is in fact faster then any other ISP available to me, I may sign up with them (that is, if it's available in my area).
But if I'm just somebody that wants a Dreamcast, why would I pay $300 more for a free Dreamcast+keyboard when I could sign up with a free ISP and buy a Dreamcast+keyboard seperatly for that much less? Sure you gotta pay in full with the latter, but it's that much cheaper!
Oh well, I'll wait and see. I seriously hope this works out as Sega plans.
I knew I'd get there eventually! (got the link from my Mom)
I'm so not in a good situation. There are a whole bunch of games that have come out in the last month that I really need to buy! The count is around 5. I'll name all the games I can remember.
Front Mission 3, Climax Landers (I need a RPG for my DC!), Alundra 2 (I haven't read any reviews on it... It better not suck!), Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Sword of The Berserk (possibly).
I also need a new hard drive and/or a CD recorder. I don't need a new modem right away since I finally got mine working with Linux. But that's all so much stuff to buy!
The biggest problem... The PlayStation 2 is coming out within six (6) months! I need to get a job. I might as well take my time with these games. If Alundra 2 lives up to it's name, that's the only one I need.
I mentioned I have finally gotten Linux to work with my (win/lin/soft)modem. Yes, it took a while, but I finally got it working! Woo!
The bad part... Take a look at this.
Yes, that's my page. It has VERY tiny text, as you can see. That's more or less my own fault, but I went through and fixed it (by using multiple fonts in the font face tag). I'm sure there are other ways around this, but this seemed to be the best, since I didn't have to modify anything in Linux/Netscape.
My page was even more screwed up in the BeOS web browser. Everything was on the left side of the screen (I guess I didn't use the 'proper' alignment tag for my tables). But I fixed that too! Woo-hoo! I feel good!
Did anyone else get as screwed up by daylight savings as I did? It's sad. I couldn't sleep. I could barely eat and now I've got a damn cold! This sucks! I knew something was wrong when I didn't play Dead or Alive 2 for a whole day. A WHOLE DAY!!!
Thus, I have come to the conclusion that daylight savings is the work of the devil! It's out there to ruin us all!
Go to this site at your own risk! You risk never leaving your computer!
I'm getting a bit tired and my butt hurts.
